This international client headquartered in the US required assistance with divesting from their parent company. A by-product of this process included migrating the SharePoint content to the cloud. As part of the review process, it was identified that it would be beneficial to add Purview content retention and custom SharePoint applications.

Since the client was operating in the US market, we needed to ensure that we addressed regulatory requirements and frameworks such as HIPAA, the ACA and CHIP, as well as the added challenge of accounting for PII in the SharePoint content. The agreed upon Microsoft Purview framework allowed the client to preserve its SharePoint content whilst adhering to multiple US and international regulatory bodies and frameworks. 

Once all the details were sorted, the divestiture implementation was successfully completed within 2 months. Compared to its previous SharePoint setup, the newly implemented framework was more comprehensive with the retention addition, whilst also allowing for a more streamlined approach. Consequently, the affected teams / business units were able to work more effectively while taking full advantage of Microsoft Purview’s capabilities.
